Welcome to the official website of the Kinniya Urban Council located in the Kinniya town, which inherits a historical background located in the Trincomalee district of the Eastern Province of Sri Lanka.
The most prominent task performed by a Local Government Institution is to provide services to the public. Accordingly, many public needs to be provided better services efficiently and quickly by this Urban Council. In order to provide those services efficiently, properly, and quickly and to achieve our targets effectively, we have upgraded and opened this website under the instruction of the Honourable Governour of Eastern Province Mr.Senthil Thondaman, and the guidance of CLG, Eastern Province with the cooperation of UNDP. Toward this website Kinniya.uc.gov.lk we pledge to provide the best service to you all through this website, which will make us to provide efficient services to our taxpayers which will lead us to travel on the right path achieving our mission.
The World Bank and European Union supported many projects were carried out by this council last years. Under the LSDP fund there are six projects were implemented under BT1-4 and PT1&2 such as
Multipurpose Building at Periyattrumunai, Cold Store at Faizal Nagar, Compost Machineries in Work Yard Constructing Koofa Nagar Concrete Road and fixed playing equipment at Children Park. The LDSP projects are funded for process in 2024.
The UNDP are also supporting and making our services easier and more efficient. “CAT 20 online system” for all the financial and revenue process, “Mankiwwa” mobile app for complaint reporting system,
Citizen Charter digital and manual displaying system and “KOHA” for Library online system are the UNDP supported projects which were implemented in the year 2023.
